Max Pogonowski
**Max recently appeared on Channel 9 on the Kerri-Anne show. Check out the footage at: www.youtube.com/watch?v=E9KxffIjMYY
Max has had an interest in jazz – particularly big band swing - from an early age playing saxophone in a high school band. And considering he was the only boy in PE class to openly enjoy the mandatory few weeks of bush dancing each year it is no surprise that he took up dancing at the first opportunity. Returning from a five year stay in Singapore he started with Street Latin classes. Two years later he followed a friend to a Swing Patrol lesson and he hasn't done Latin since! In 2006 with four years of swing dancing under his belt Max spent a year with one of Swing Patrols performance troupes performing all over town. He has been known to go social dancing seven days in a row and stop for a day or two only to do it all over again…
Max has had many and varied jobs in the past including two years as a police officer. At the end of 2006 he decided to quit the force and move to Sydney for an adventure, and maybe to find a new career. So when he was offered a cadetship in Sydney Swing Patrol it was a dream come true! He loves dancing at all tempos but is most at home at the extremes both slow and fast. Max has a crazy passion and is really excited about sharing his love of swing dancing with others. You will see him at Cronulla SP every Wednesday.
"If there's one thing I want my students to take home it's enthusiasm and passion for Swing dancing of all kinds, if they get that the rest will take care of itself"
